As you of course know, the Society of Ancients put on a battle day in which a single historical battle is chosen and groups run the same battle using different rulesets. Last year (Zama), two Tony Bath games were put on. One was using Peltast and Pila and the another used the set in Donald Feathersone's Wargames. Two years before the set published by the wargamers newsletter was used for Kynoskephalae. The one set that has not be tried is the set that was the official Society of Ancients in the late 60s. I would like to try these rules but unfortunately I don't have any chariot era figures. A friend has offered to lend me some Hittites and Egyptians but they based in elements not individually. Hence to use them I would have to use casualty markers and possibly modify the rules as well. Would anyone be interested in helping with putting on a battle of Kadesh game or, for that matter, simply turning up on the day and playing? Details about the Battleday can be found here: www.soa.org.uk/about_the_society/battleday/Daivid
